2018 USLCA President's Award Recipient

I'm grateful, honored and overwhelmed to have been awarded the 2018 USLCA President's Award,  "awarding those that demonstrate extraordinary service to the association and profession."

Paperless Private Practice for the IBCLC and my upcoming IBCLC Private Practice: From Start to Strong were conceived out of a desire to help all IBCLCs achieve self-efficacy in managing their private practices in the most efficient, productive, and ethical ways possible. We do such important work, and it brings me great joy to serve the community I love so much.

Thank you, USLCA!

Annie Frisbie recently published the book Paperless Practice for the IBCLC, which is an incredibly deep look into the mechanics exactly to take your private IBCLC practice digital and contains very heavily researched info on how to follow HIPAA and HITECH. It is an excellent example of how to ensure that what IBCLCs do is in line with how things are done across the board. I was so impressed with her commitment to the credential and her explanations on how following her suggestions can lead to better respect for the profession, assist in licensure and reimbursement efforts, and act as a lever to ensure that we don’t kick ourselves in the foot by skipping steps or being nonchalant about getting paid for our work outside of institutions. Plus, she writes about collaboration among IBCLCs in those metropolitan areas where there is competition, and her attitude about cooperation and compassion shines through.
